Indiana Hoosiers Tickets - Scott May is Coach of the Year!

Being a coach of a football team is never easy. You could prepare the best of strategies and they could all be brought down under the roof on the field. But Scott May, coach of Indiana Hoosiers winning the Coach of the Year award points a thing or two for coaches of other teams.

Read into Scott May?s performance as a coach and it would not take you long to understand that the man had the same resources as other coaches did. If anything, the challenge for Scott May went even bigger as he did not have the services of three Division 1 Players and a quarter back from the previous year?s champion team. Give any coach this situation, and he would possibly throw in the towel even before matches started.

Not with Scott! He took this up as a challenge and demanded an improvement in the standards in their game play. Obviously, the void left by the missing players was too big for anyone to fill, and Scott well understood that. He motivated all his players really well, and made them feel that the absence of three key players from the team could just be the fillip for them to do well. The feeling of standing up and being counted charged up the Southeastern Players and coerced them to respond. Did they respond or what?

It seemed like after the first game against Avon, which the South Easterners won; their players took to the field like men possessed. They just had one thing in their mind ? Victory at any cost. Scott, to a certain extent, was helped by the excellent play of Jordan Hoffman who went on to play a major role in all their victories. With a 62% conversion rate and running close to 2000 yards, Jordan?s performance speaks for itself.

As for the season, the South Easterners won each and every game that came their way. Yes, some of the games were too close. But Scott had taught his players to be tenacious on the face of adversity and to fight it out. Fight they did, and eventually they finished up with a record of 9-0, not a mean achievement by any standards.

In the first round of playoffs, the South Easterners could not keep up their momentum and intensity and eventually lost to sectional champions, Warren Central. Looking back at that game, Scott would rue the fact that some of his players were a bit off-key, which helped Warren Central to put a lid on them. Even in this game, Hamilton SE ran Warren Central damn close!

Any coach to recover from the fact that some of his key players had suffered injuries just before the season had begun, is really difficult, bordering almost on the impossible! Scott not only recovered, but also inspired his team guys to put in some stellar shows, game after game. It is for this that he won the Coach of the Year award. And no one can doubt this at all!
